NHSE have today published a letter which sets out the GP contract arrangements for 2022/23 including changes to the core GP Contract and the Network Contract DES.
The letter also describes the arrangements for the Quality and Outcomes Framework (QOF) in 2022/23 along with minor changes to Vaccinations and Immunisations.
Following the stalemate in negotiations between the BMA’s GPC in England and NHS England, the changes laid out in a letter from NHS England which come into effect from 1 April 2022, the BMA wanted to make it clear that they have not been agreed or endorsed by the BMA.
They state 'NHSEI has chosen to remain aligned to the plan agreed in 2019, before the global pandemic. Despite repeated requests from GPC England, NHSEI has refused to discuss matters brought by GPC England to support practices with proposals outside of the five year framework. The BMA also notes that NHSEI have introduced new proposals that are not part of the five year framework'
