Sent to Salford & Trafford GPs /PMs/PCNs
Dear All
We are writing to update you on a recent change to the LMC. Some of you will already be aware that Dr Jenny Walton retired from the LMC at the end of July. Jenny started her GP training in 1982, and became a GP partner in 1983, as well as working as an Occupational Consultant in Bolton during the mid 90’s.
As a Salford GP partner Jenny joined the LMC in 2010 and undertook a number of roles during her time with the LMC, from subcommittee member, joint Chair, joint honorary secretary, Executive member and more recently Vice chair. Attending multiple meetings a week, Jenny had a particular responsibility to ensure the needs and contributions of Salford GP practices members were considered and understood, whilst supporting the team to deliver a wide variety of services across Salford, Trafford and more recently Stockport too.
Jenny has been a hugely valued member of the LMC team, not only for her knowledge and expertise but her unwavering commitment to support the LMC and the practices we serve bringing humility, common sense, tenacity, compassion, fairness and humour to even the most challenging of situations. All of which have made a formidable combination in the world of medical politics and pastoral care. It’s safe to say Jenny has already been hugely missed by the team, but we understand the time was right for her and her family to step down.
Please be assured the LMC continues to be present at all relevant meetings and available for any enquiries you may have. We will email out shortly to provide an update on how the LMC will move forward and outline the plans regarding our continued working with Stockport LMC.
In the meantime if anyone would like to get in touch with Jenny her email will be active for a short while longer or you can email the team who will be sure to pass your message on.
Kind regards
Eve Mannerings
CEO, Salford and Trafford Local Medical Committee
