Quick update: last year, the Cameron Fund received applications from 173 individuals nationally and gave out £220,455 in grants, loans and Money Advice. A major new initiative to support actions to help prevent GP suicides is now also underway, funded by the Charity.
In recent months we have asked for self-nominations for the LMCs Subcommittees and Executive Committee. We are pleased to announce the process has now been concluded.
Following the announcements of the review of the NHS pension scheme arrangements, the BMA are asking doctors concerned by the impact of these tax measures to write, either for the first time, or as a follow up letter to their earlier representations, to their local MP. The BMA’s Annual Representatives Meeting took place 23-27 June at the ICC Belfast. The ARM elections were open to a number of committees – including GPC UK. Nominations were open to all BMA members. However, voting was only open to ARM delegates.
The new financial year started in April but we know that many of you still have questions about the new GP contract. Some of you will also have attended our recent GP Contract Information Evening at The Copthorne Hotel which was hosted by our guest speaker, Dr Krishna Kasaraneni, an expert on the finer points of the contract.
